The Holy Roman Empire was a mighty medieval empire in the desired tradition of the ancient roman empire.
The ruler of the empire was the king of the Romans, elected by the prince electors who was often crowned to be the emperor by the pope in rome. The might of the catholic church was very strong in the empire, and so the church had three of the seven prince electors:
- The Archbishop of Mainz
- The Archbishop of Trier
- The Archbishop of Cologne
The other four secular prince electors were:
- The King of Bohemia
- The Count Palatine of the Rhine
- The Duke of Saxony
- The Margrave of Brandenburg
