Kingdom Come: Deliverance Wiki

Hello Game Widow,

yes I have contact to our Art departement, we can create a logo with "Wiki" on it. No problem about that.

Thanks a million! Meanwhile i will add a logo without the word "wiki" — Game widow (talk) 18:14, 17 June 2016 (UTC)

How do you get your images to blend so well into the transparent layer? I've never used any other option than hard edge with the eraser tool in GIMP. --NibKing (talk) 16:04, 9 March 2018 (UTC)

For the icons, the files already had a transparent bg so i didn't have to do anyting. If you are cutting stuff out, this is a trick i use with GIMP: use whatever tools you like to select either the bit of the image you want to keep or the bit you want to remove. Then, if the area is being removed is all one colour (say black, or white), you can use the Colors > Color to alpha menu to change it to transparent. If the area you are removing is not just one colour, you can delete it, then reselect the deleted area and use Select > Grow and set that to 1 or 2 pixels (as many as required to impinge slightly on the icon itself / area you are keeping) and then use the feather option to make it less harsh. — Game widow (talk) 17:30, 9 March 2018 (UTC)
Though i've never used any of those features you mentioned, it makes sense and i'll try it out next time. Also, from what menu do you capture screenshots for armour icons? The couple I uploaded were taken from my ingame trunk, but they appear slightly smaller, yet occupy more dead space in the infobox. You can see what I mean, when looking at variants 2 & 3 for Black pourpoint and Brown felt hat.   --NibKing (talk) 19:33, 9 March 2018 (UTC)
Forgot to mention, I had to use the size parameter in the infobox to scale it up, else it wouldn't appear to be consistent with other pages. --NibKing (talk) 19:40, 9 March 2018 (UTC)
All the item icons are not screenshots, they are taken from the game assets, that's why the names are so weird. If you can find one, just drop the screenshot here and i'll locate it for you — Game widow (talk) 19:54, 9 March 2018 (UTC)
I've always been curious about how people extract game assests, and after finally researching a bit about it, it's not something I have the time or patience for atm. It's obvious that uploading anything other than the actual game files, e.g. manually cropped screenshots, will look inferior in comparison. So are the actual item names tied to the asset image files in any way, or do you have to make a visual comparison based on what you've managed to obtain ingame? If it would help you in any way, I can provide screenshots from my trunk of everything I've collected. --NibKing (talk) 21:10, 9 March 2018 (UTC)
Unfortunately, they aren't tied to the in-game names which is why i've been renaming them as i associate them with items. However, some icons are used for more than one item, so that's inexact as well. I am happy to track down the correct icons any time you can't find them. But identifying them is still only possible by visual comparison, either yours or mine — Game widow (talk) 21:19, 9 March 2018 (UTC)
I uploaded screenshots of all my items and put it on my talk page. Feel free to use them as reference, or do whatever you like with the files. --NibKing (talk) 03:12, 10 March 2018 (UTC)
I didn't realize you've already uploaded every single item icon. You could have mentioned this lol. --NibKing (talk) 14:25, 10 March 2018 (UTC)
I assumed you'd looked at the pages i linked on Talk:StuffGame widow (talk) 16:53, 10 March 2018 (UTC)

Trader NPCs

Sorry you had to move all those pages. Should I move these as well:

  --NibKing (talk) 16:21, 27 March 2018 (UTC)

It's no trouble. I really wonder about those last few titles, which was why i didn't move them as well. Rather than moving them twice, i think they should just be "Trader (<town>)". I'm fairly sure i see your logic in naming them that way, but it just feels awkward — Game widow (talk) 16:23, 27 March 2018 (UTC)
I can see what you mean. That issue crossed my mind more than once. I stuck with the naming convention because, for example, the two lone traders in Merhojed and Talmberg could also be named 'Trader (Merhojed)' and 'Trader (Talmberg)', yet they aren't technically "Traders" by profession, if that makes any sense. --NibKing (talk) 16:49, 27 March 2018 (UTC)
It does, but i think in those particular cases, the extra precision is helpful. — Game widow (talk) 16:59, 27 March 2018 (UTC)
So they would look like this?
  --NibKing (talk) 17:18, 27 March 2018 (UTC)
Those all look better to me than the existing versions — Game widow (talk) 17:25, 27 March 2018 (UTC)
Yeah I think so, too. Should the Skalitz Traders be moved to Trader (Skalitz market) or Trader (Skalitz - market)? The hyphen would follow convention of other Trader page titles. --NibKing (talk) 17:30, 27 March 2018 (UTC)
I think without the dash is cleaner — Game widow (talk) 17:38, 27 March 2018 (UTC)
Ok. Do you want me to take care of it or do you got it? I don't mind since I started the mess.--NibKing (talk) 17:44, 27 March 2018 (UTC)
I'm fine either way, shall we split it? I'll take Skalitz and Uzhitz. — Game widow (talk) 17:45, 27 March 2018 (UTC)
Sure thing --NibKing (talk) 17:47, 27 March 2018 (UTC)
